Some Design Decisions

Using previous a student’s “Cobyob” project, I saw some observations in the reading that I might implement in mine

“Being a physical, interactive object rather than a 2D screen, it offers a better potential for engagement”

(Ramsamy-Iranah et al, 2016.)”

This informed my choice of not using screens, as the first idea was to have an LED screen in the middle.

However, when this is not possible, children prefer to play with interactive toys rather than alone

(Shahid et al, 2011).

This informed my decision to add the two mice, as I wanted to create a interactive and social factor

Research also suggests that great part of learning is carried from parent to child

(Dorie et al, 2013).

As this is true, I wanted to create a toy that would help children and parents. Parents can be stressed and not have energy to teach their child a second language. I wanted a toy that took the weight off of the parents shoulders in a creative and fun way.
